Why use EARL Lintels?

Our lintels are specifically crafted with quality and strength in mind. No compromise on materials, unlike some competitors. They are typically thicker than other brands to enhance stiffness and optimize buildability.

Materials

Most lintel manufacturers make their lintels out of pre-galvanised sheet with a minimum yield stress of 250N/mm2.  Our lintels are made using steel with a minimum yield stress of 275N/mm2, and have a galvanised finish to ensure longevity.

Plaster Key

Our internal plaster key consists of a welded mesh to the underside of the flange, which is within the opening area only to provide a strong physical plaster key.

Insulation

Our lintels are insulated with an expanded CFC free polystyrene core.

Linear thermal transmittance (psi) values have been calculated in accordance with BRE document BR497 using modern thermal analysis software.  Linear thermal transmittance values are provided upon request.

Quality

Our lintels are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 845-2:2013+A1:2016, tested in an approved facility in accordance with BS EN 846-9:2016 and bear the UKCA mark.

We are also accredited to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2 and are audited yearly to ensure compliance. Where our lintels are not covered by BS EN 845, they are structurally calculated in accordance with the Eurocodes and fabricated to BS EN 1090.
